Variety: Pinot Grigio 100%
Region: Pavia IGP, Lombardia
Style: Crisp, bright and fresh sparkling wine
Winemaker: Janko Pelagic
Winemaking:
The IGP Pavia Sparkling Pinot Grigio is made using the Charmat method, where the second fermentation occurs in stainless steel tanks to retain the grape’s fresh, fruity character. After gentle pressing, the base wine undergoes a cool primary fermentation, followed by a short secondary fermentation to develop fine bubbles and lively texture. The result is a bright, crisp sparkling wine with vibrant fruit and a clean, refreshing finish.
Tasting Note:
The 2024 Maretti Italia Sparkling Pinot Grigio opens with lively aromas of green apple, citrus zest, and white flowers. On the palate, it’s crisp and refreshing, with bright notes of pear and lemon sherbet carried by a fine, persistent mousse. Clean and delicate, it finishes with a hint of minerality and a mouthwatering freshness.
