Variety: 75% Barbera, 25% Nebbiolo
Region: Langhe DOC, Piedmont
Style: Elegant, structured and savoury
Winemaker: Janko Pelagic
Winemaking:
Vinified separately with each parcel naturally fermented in stainless steel. The Nebbiolo is immediately separated from skins whilst the Barbera receives a further week maceration. The fruit is matured independently in a mix of small French oak casks and large Slavonion oak for eight months before blending and a further four months ageing in large oak casks.
Tasting Note:
The Maretti Langhe Rosso is a vibrant and expressive red blend that captures the character of Piedmont. Aromas of ripe red cherry, wild berries, and violet are layered with hints of dried herbs, anise, and a subtle earthy undertone. The palate is medium-bodied and fresh, with juicy red fruit, supple tannins, and a touch of spice from gentle oak ageing. Bright acidity provides lift and structure, making this a versatile, food-friendly wine with a long, savoury finish.
